Join us in celebrating Polar Bear Week

Today marks the start of Polar Bear Week--when about 1,000 hungry polar bears migrate to Churchill, Manitoba only to wait for the Hudson Bay to freeze over so they can return to hunting. Help us celebrate the Polar Bear Week migration this week by BECOMING AN ECO PARTNER WITH A MONTHLY GIFT OF $15 OR MORE, and we'll send you a variety pack of polar bear notecards as a thank-you gift. Polar bears must survive the ice-free summer without access to seals--one of the few food sources nutritious enough to sustain their great bulk--by living off fat reserves from their last feeding in April or May. That's why climate activists like us choose this time of year to call attention to the polar bear's plight. Sadly, climate change has made the ice-free seasons increasingly longer and strains the limits of the bears' fat reserves, threatening their survival. YOU CAN HELP PROTECT POLAR BEARS ALL YEAR LONG BY PLEDGING TO GIVE $15 OR MORE EACH MONTH TO FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE. While the polar bears wait for the sea ice, they're also waiting for your help. Together with your fellow EDF Eco Partners, your monthly gifts can make a big difference for these beloved bears. Thank you for all your support, Emily Stevenson Manager, Online Membership
