Nissan reports December and calendar year 2016 sales for Europe

Rolle, (Switzerland) 13th January, 2017 – #nissan announced today European sales for December of 62,355 units (Nissan and Datsun), representing a market share of 3.9%. Calendar sales to date 2016 totalled 734,408 units. Market share for the calendar year is 3.9%.

Calendar year and December highlights:

  • December sales in the UK totalled 12,912 with a market share of 6.3%. UK calendar year sales totalled 167,826 units with a market share of 5.5%.
  • Sales in Russia totalled 9,825 units in December with a market share of 6.8%. Calendar year market share to date is 6.2%.
  • Sales in France totaled 8,177 units with a market share of 3.6%. Calendar year sales total 77,242 units and market share is 3.2%. Sales in December rose 21.4% year on year.
  • Nissan in Italy sold 4,303 units in December, with a market share of 2.9%. Calendar year sales to date totaled 63,473 and market share is 3.1%.  The #nissan #leaf continues to achieve solid results in the Italian electric segment with cumulative sales of 472 units for the period Jan-December 2016, which marks an increase of 21% vs the same period of the past year.
  • Datsun sales in Russia totalled 2,789 units in December with 18,943 units sold from January to December 2016.
  • Sales in Spain totalled 6,144 with a marke share of 5.5%. Calendar year sales total 66,086 units and market share is 5.0%.  This marks Spain’s highest calendar year sales in a ten year period.  
  • Sales in Germany totalled 5,524 units with a market share of 2.0%. Calendar year sales to date total 78,183 units and a market share of 2.2%.
