EU and China reaffirm commitment to the Paris Agreement on climate change

Brussels Belgium - 2 June, 2017

Commenting on today's joint EU-China statement on climate and clean #energyGeneviève Pons, Director of #wwf European Policy Office, said:

“We are moving to a renewable #energy, low carbon world. Today the EU and China, two major emitters, issue an important joint statement reaffirming their commitment to the Paris Agreement on #climatechange. Earlier this week the EU and the African Union did the same.

By doing so, they are providing certainty to the rest of the world that #climatechange action will continue, and will be stronger and more visible than ever.

It is an invitation to other countries to intensify their cooperation, to think bigger and bolder on tackling #climatechange, in order to help drive forward the urgent - and inevitable -  transition from dirty to clean #energy."
