Free2Move and Nanyang Technological University set up Singapore’s 1st electric bikesharing service

•    Free2Move, Groupe PSA’s mobility brand, and Nanyang Technological University #singapore (NTU Singapore) set up Singapore’s 1st electric & connected bikesharing service
•    Free2Move Bikesharing service displays PEUGEOT e-bikes around the campus
•    The pilot project aims to study commuters’ needs when using alternative modes of transport for the first or last kilometre

Today, Free2Move and NTU #singapore launch a pilot project for Singapore’s first electric bicycle-sharing service known as “Free2Move Bikesharing”.

Initially, 20 PEUGEOT electric bikes - along with two docking stations - are available for use around NTU’s campus before the service expands. The project promotes an “active and green” means of mobility for the first or last kilometre to or from the campus.

The e-bikes come with a 400 watt-hour (Wh) battery which offers a range of up to 75 kilometres. They can be dropped off at any location on the campus or at the docking stations, which are fitted with solar panels to save energy while charging.

Thanks to a smartphone application co-developed by NTU and Groupe PSA’s Business Lab #singapore entity, users are able to geo-locate the closest e-bike and check on its battery charge level.
