Press release available only in original language.  Today marks the beginning of the 2016 edition of the environmental education project "Go with the wind!", promoted by ERG Renew and dedicated to students in the third year of middle school within the Municipalities where wind farms of the ERG Group are located. The project, under the patronage of the Ministry of the Environment, will involve around 1500 students, across all the regions where the company is present with its wind farms (Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily).

The initiative aims to raise awareness amongst students and teachers about the active role that young generations can take on, in order to contribute to the protection of the environment and to the development of a #sustainability culture in the #energy sector.
The project involves students in the third year of middle school in the municipalities where plants are located and will involve classroom lessons in which renewable #energy sources will be discussed, together with topics relating to the environment and to #energy efficiency. These will be followed by a guided tour of a wind farm, during which the young students will be able to witness in first person how the plant and the individual turbines are operated. Indeed, specialist technicians will illustrate the different phases of the operation, from the planning and construction of the plant to the production and distribution of electricity.

"Go with the wind!" is also linked to a competition that asks students to represent the theme of wind #energy, expressing their creativity through photos, videos, drawings, posters, scale models and articles.
ERG Renew, a company of the ERG Group, is Italy's first wind #energy operator, with a capacity of 1,095 MW and a market share of 13%. In addition to Italy, it has plants in France, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria and Poland, for a total installed capacity of 1,721 MW.
