Terna, the company chaired by Catia Bastioli and led by Matteo Del Fante, has been reconfirmed among the leading companies in the world for #sustainability performance in the FTSE4Good indices of the London Stock Exchange.

The recognition of #terna, which has been present since 2005 in the FTSE4Good Global and Europe baskets, arrives a few days after its inclusion for the fifth consecutive year in the EURONEXT World 120, EURONEXT Europe 120 and EURONEXT Eurozone 120 indices of the rating agency VIGEO – EIRIS. These important results in the field of #sustainability are also being given ever-increasing attention by the market, as is confirmed by the growing presence of investors who are attentive to ethical issues, which has increased in the last few years and which now represents about 10% of the institutional investors in #terna share capital.

Since 2001, the FTSE4Good indices have identified the companies with the best management of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) risks, and exclusively select businesses that adopt the best practices in terms of #sustainability. The companies were assessed taking into account more than 300 indicators relating to different issues including climate change, corporate governance and respect for human rights.

The Vigeo-Eiris EURONEXT indices are based on companies listed in the North American, Asian and European markets and were prepared following a method with more than 330 indicators and 38 criteria of #sustainability which assess the company's commitment in different areas such as protecting biodiversity, developing human capital, preventing corruption and protecting the health and safety of workers.

Terna, Industry Leader in the Electric Utilities sector of the Dow Jones #sustainability Index 2015, is included in all the main #sustainability indices including ECPI (Ethical Global, Euro and EMU), MSCI (ESG World, EAFE, EMU and Europe), ESI (Excellence Europe), Ethibel (Pioneer and Excellence), GC100 (United Nations Global Compact), STOXX ESG (Global, Environmental, Social and Governance) and in the Italian indices FTSE ECPI Italia SRI Benchmark and Italia SRI Leaders, which are prepared including only listed companies.
