  • The company will build two wind farms, with capacity of 50 MW and 30 MW, under turnkey agreements.
  • It has also been selected to supply 50 MW to a third project.
  • Factoring in these three supply contracts, Gamesa's order intake surpassed 1,300 MW in #india in 2015, up 54% from 2014.

Gamesa continues to consolidate its leadership of the Indian market, having received three new orders1: two EPC contracts for wind farms with capacity of 50 MW and 30 MW and a contract to supply 50 MW at a third development. Factoring in these firm orders for 130 MW, the company's order intake topped 1,300 MW in #india in 2015, up 54% year-on-year.

The first turnkey order, placed by a renewable #energy player, encompasses the installation of 25 of the firm's G97-2.0 MW turbines (50 MW) at a wind farm located in the state of Gujarat, which is expected to be commissioned in September.

The second order, meanwhile, reached with a power supplier, contemplates the development of a wind farm in the state of Madhya Pradesh, equipped with 15 of its G97-2.0 MW Class S turbines (30 MW), which is slated for commissioning during the first quarter of this year. With a tower height of 104 metres, the G97-2.0 MW Class S is a new variant tailor-designed for the Indian market with a view to maximising turbine performance at low wind speed sites.

Both are turnkey contracts so that the company will also handle all of the infrastructure needed to install and operate the developments. In addition, #gamesa will operate and maintain these new facilities on a long-term basis.

Elsewhere, #gamesa has also signed an agreement with an important independent local operator and developer for the supply of 25 of its G97-2.0 MW Class S turbines at a wind farm located in the state of Madhya Pradesh. This project, which will similarly be maintained by #gamesa over a long-term horizon, is due for commissioning in the first quarter of 2016.

These three new orders, thanks to which #gamesa will install 65 G97-2.0 MW turbines in total, reinforces the company's solid commercial positioning in #india, where it has been the number one OEM by market share for the last two years.

Gamesa has been present in #india - as technology provider and wind farm developer - since 2009. To date, #gamesa has installed more than 2,270 MW and services over 2,000 MW under O&M agreements. In addition, in its capacity as wind farm developer, it has developed some 1,435 MW.
