Renusol enters the Latin American solar market

New sales director for Latin America

PV mounting systems manufacturer #renusol enters the Latin American solar market. As the new Head of Sales, Armando Cadima will direct sales development in Latin America. Before joining #renusol, he was responsible for Latin American sales at Schletter. Drawing on the sales network of its parent company, RBI Solar, #renusol will make its entire product portfolio for installing roof- and ground-mounted photovoltaic modules available on the Latin American market.

PV power is cheaper than grid power
“The Latin American solar market has incredible potential. A total of more than one gigawatt of photovoltaic capacity has already been installed, including more than 500 megawatts in Chile alone. Strong economic growth in many Latin American countries has spurred the demand for electricity and with it, electricity prices. As a result, PV power is often cheaper than grid power – a factor that will quickly drive forward market development”, Sven Künzel, Managing Director of #renusol, explains. “I’m very pleased that we have gained such an experienced employee in Armando Cadima. Prior to joining #renusol, he was instrumental in developing Latin American sales at Schletter.”

From now on, #renusol will be especially active in Brazil and Mexico. Brazil is planning public tenders for five gigawatts of additional PV capacity by 2020. The government previously relied on hydropower to cover around 70 percent of the growing electricity demand. However, due to their significant environmental impact, many planned hydropower projects are very controversial.

Renusol brings expertise to the young market
“The Latin American market is still young; it’s not unusual for small, local companies to implement PV projects, sometimes even without structural calculations. In contrast, our Latin American customers will profit from Renusol’s experience with PV projects. Renusol’s mounting solutions have stood the test of time, with some already installed for more than 15 years. The components’ proven quality is another clear competitive advantage”, reports Armando Cadima. After completing his MSc in Environmental Engineering, the native Brazilian spent four years in South American sales at Schletter.

Renusol will present its PV mounting solutions at Intersolar South America in São Paulo, Brazil from 23–25 August 2016.
