Solaris will provide 21 buses to Oslo

Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. company will soon commence deliveries of another buses to the capital of Norway, Oslo. According to the agreement signed with one of the largest transport operators in this Scandinavian state, Unibuss AS, fifteen Urbino 12 city buses and 6 articulated #solaris Urbino 18 vehicles will soon be launched on the Norwegian roads. Among them there will be 500. #solaris delivered to Norway.

All vehicles ordered by Unibuss AS will be powered by eco-friendly engines that meet the most stringent Euro VI emissions standards. To further minimize their environmental impact, they have been adapted to work on HVO biofuel (hydrotreated vegetable oil). The Urbino 12 model will feature a 224 kW engines, while the articulated buses will receive 270 kW propulsion units. The powertrain will be complemented by an automatic transmission to enhance comfort and fuel economy.

Solaris Urbino buses intended for Norway are characterized by extensive equipment in the field of comfort and safety of passengers. Its elements include full vehicle air-conditioning system, energy-efficient lighting of the entire vehicle in LED technology and comfortable, individual seats for passengers equipped with USB chargers for charging mobile devices. The Polish manufacturer will also install a passenger information system with voice announcement of stops, a passenger counting system and video monitoring in the vehicles.

''I am very happy to present our next buses in the capital of Norway. The current delivery is particularly important because it will make the long-awaited debut of the latest version of the articulated city bus - the Solaris Urbino 18 model - in Scandinavia'', said Sverre Skaar, Managing Director of Solaris Norge AS, which will be responsible for after sales and LCC for vehicles at the headquarters in Rosenholm, a suburb of Oslo.

Buses ordered by Unibuss will also be equipped by the manufacturer with a special 'Scandinavian thermal insulation package', which improves thermal comfort of passengers and reduces fuel consumption in harsh Scandinavian weather conditions. It includes such additions as, among others non-standard insulation of side walls and ceiling, additional insulation of the chassis in the area of wheel arches, double side windows as well as heating mats installed in the floor in the area of the entrance doors. The vehicles will also be adapted to the use of snow chains.

Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. has been present on the Norwegian market since 2006. Carrying out the current order from Unibuss, the largest recipient of the Polish manufacturer on the local market, the number of vehicles from Bolechowo in the fjord country will exceed 500. Among them there are vehicles ranging from 8.9 m to 18.75 m of lenght, powered by ecological diesel engines, as well as low-emission hybrid and CNG vehicles. There are also 14 #solaris electric buses in Norway.
