Seldom have we sensed a greater need to repair our relationship with nature. New priorities call for new solutions. Evoking the spirit of this new beginning, #montegrappa announces the Elmo #ambiente: an exploration into the possibilities of sustainable production.
Efficiency and evolution are the driving forces behind the new Elmo #ambiente. Featuring a body carved from 100% recycled resin, #montegrappa has collaborated with other artisanal innovators to apply 2020s thinking to a 1920s design classic.
Ocean and Charcoal are the names of two new variations of a silhouette pioneered by Heinrich 'Elmo' Helm – Technical Director at Italy's first fountain pen factory. These striking translucent finishes allow a rare view onto the inner workings of a high-grade writing instrument, while providing an honesty and intimacy that remind us how everything we touch is part of a larger narrative.
The use of modern recycled resin is the result of a collaboration with Smile Plastics, an artisanal studio creating architectural materials for some of the leading names in conscious fashion and design.
Every #montegrappa writing instrument is a statement against disposability, but the Elmo #ambiente goes the extra distance to consider the possibilities of sustainable production. Made in fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint modes, it arrives with a selection of accessories made to the same standard.
Located only a short distance from Bassano del Grappa, Arbos has been developing recycled stationery alternatives since 1988. In collaboration with their artisanal team, we have used RicuoioTM recovered leather, RistoffaTM textiles and recycled paper to create a suite of accessories for this landmark design.
