BANGKOK – Daniele Schillaci, Nissan's Executive Vice President and Chairman of Management Committee for Japan, Asia, Oceania Business, has met the Honorable Minister of Industry Dr. Uttama Savanayana in Bangkok to discuss the future of electrification in Thailand.

During the meeting, Dr. Uttama expressed interest in exploring collaboration between the Ministry and Nissan in advancing awareness and acceptance of electrification and the future of mobility in Thailand.

"The Thai Government is committed to supporting automotive companies as they develop the car of the future, the electrification ecosystem around that, as well as an ecosystem for EV users in line with its Thai 4.0 strategy, which includes next-generation automotive," Dr. Uttama said.

The constructive meeting with Nissan's executives, including Mr Schillaci, reaffirmed the commitment and strong relationship between the Thai government and Nissan to lead the way in accelerating electrification in Thailand and creating an even more competitive local auto industry, Dr. Uttama added.

"We are excited to continue partnering with the government to lead the way in accelerating electrification in Thailand and creating an even more competitive local auto industry, including the release of the world's bestselling electric vehicle, the new Nissan LEAF, during our current fiscal year in Thailand to further speed up the pace of electrification and mobility right here in Thailand," Mr Schillaci said.
