Suunto confirmed as new Team Supplier and Official Licensee of the Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team

Functionality of #suunto connected sports watches to support the #mercedesbenzeqformulaeteam in the area of human performance
- Starting with the race in Mexico, all team members will wear sports watches supplied by Finnish brand Suunto

With the third #event of the 2019/20 season in Mexico fast approaching, the #mercedesbenzeqformulaeteam is pleased to announce a multi-season relationship with #suunto. The Finnish company is a world leader in the design and innovation of connected sports watches, dive computers and instruments used by adventurers worldwide.
Ian James, Team Principal of the #mercedesbenzeqformulaeteam: “The Team faces major challenges in its debut season in Formula E. Without a doubt, we have to give each individual on the Team the best possible support to help them cope with these strains. That’s why we are delighted to have found a first-class Supplier in #suunto, whose products enable our team members to deliver their absolute best performance.”
Since the start of season six, the members of the team have been wearing #suunto connected sports watches. Over the course of the season, the squad and crew will have the benefit of the extensive sleep analysis and sport tracking features of the #suunto 9 watch in ensuring optimal performance despite changes of time zone.
The watches will also serve as fitness and health trackers, monitoring the performance of all team members before, during and after the strenuous one-day events. Additional features are a heart rate monitoring function, a variety of workout modes, smart connectivity and GPS navigation. This all-round package ensures that team members can always check all their important dates, times and itineraries on their wrist at any ABB FIA Formula E Championship venue.

In the first year of the relationship, a special edition of the #suunto 9 Multisport GPS watch in the team livery will also go on sale in March 2020.
