Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles managed to deliver about 7,500 electric vehicles, compared to about 3,600 vans in 2021. During the past year, 10,800 ID. Buzz vans left the VWCV main factory in Hannover-Stöcken. About 6,000 vans have already been handed to customers.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles doubled e-van deliveries in 2022. Within such a framework, the newly-launched ID. Buzz – the latest full-electric version of the iconic Bulli van – was very welcomed by the market, so far. In fact, according to the manufacturer, even before the vehicle arrived at dealerships in autumn, customers had already ordered 21,000, thus clearly exceeding VWCV’s forecasts for the year. By the end of the year, orders for the ID. Buzz Pro and ID. Buzz Cargo added up to 26,600 vehicles.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, the electric vehicles push the market

“The ID. Buzz marks a milestone on our way to achieving the goal of 55 per cent BEV vehicles by the start of the next decade, a target firmly set in our GRIP 2030 strategy”, explained Lars Krause, Member of Board of Management VWCV for Sales and Marketing. Over the course of the year, VWCV delivered a total of 328,600 vehicles to customers, a year-on-year drop of 8.6 per cent. At 407,400, orders received were once again way above the number of vehicles delivered to  customers.

Except for the ID. Buzz and the electric versions of Volkwagen CVs, all the other thermal models (T-Series, Amarok, Caddy and Crafter) recorded some decrease in deliveries ranging from 14.3% (T-Series) to 4.3% (Crafter).
