Thursday and Saturday.

Primiero San Martino di Castrozza,  Trento, November 14th, 2022 – Starting Thursday, November 17th from Primiero San Martino di Castrozza, (TN), the ECOdolomitesGT 2022, car competition reserved for electric cars.  The regularity and consumption e-rally takes place on open roads and is valid for the International FIA ecoRally Cup 2022.

The 20 cars admitted to the race meet on Thursday morning from 8.30 am in Piazza del Municipio, which hosts the EDGT Charge-Park, headquarters of the e-motor event and home to the “charge park”, where electrified cars can "fill up" with electricity from renewable sources.

The crews, coming from Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Canada, Bulgaria, Romania, Czech Republic and Slovenia, will be engaged until 12.30 with technical and administrative checks, while the departure of the first car is scheduled for 5 pm, will follow all the remaining cars in the race within a minute of each other.

The route, which starts and returns from Primiero San Martino di Castrozza going as far as Ortisei and touches suggestive corners of the Dolomites in  Trentino, Veneto and South-Tyrol, is divided into 4 sectors for over 440 kilometers in total.  Numerous special stages for a total of over 220 kilometers, during which the drivers will have to try their hand at maintaining the average specifications imposed by the regulations, detected by numerous "virtual" secret controls, made possible by specific dedicated control technologies.

Saturday,  November 19th will be the final day of the event. The first car will cross the finish line at 11.45, in the center of the Frazione Fiera di Primiero, near the EDGT Charge-Park. Publication of the Final Ranking on-line @ www.ECOdolomitesGT.org on the same day at about 7pm. Award ceremony at about 8pm at the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza.

This is the last stage of the championship of 2022, which after touching several countries, such as Spain, Czech Republic, Portugal, Slovenia and Monte Carlo (MC), arrives in Italy at #ecodolomitesgt

The center of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza for the occasion is also transformed into an exhibition. Fans of engines and sustainable mobility, in addition to attending the start  and finish, will be able to see the Charge Park with cars in  Piazza del Municipio on Thursday from the morning until the departure at 5 pm as well as Friday from 9 am and Saturday from 12pm, when the cars will cross the finish line, and then remain parked  in "parc fermé"  until the end of the award ceremony.

Auto in the race, roadbook-driven
Road-legal cars can take part in the competitions, provided they are 100% electric. Each crew consists of two people in possession of a driving license and a medical certificate for non-competitive sports.  To participate it is not necessary to be a pilot: the race is open to everyone, even if it requires attention and commitment as the route to follow and the times to be respected are indicated in the Roadbook, the "paper navigator" used in regularity competitions.

Awards
As has been the case since 2019, competitors will be rewarded through trophies made from trees felled by the Vaia storm of 2018, naturally and handcrafted carved in the same aesthetic form of the Dolomites themselves: a way to pay homage to the places where the event takes place and remember a local consequence of climate change.

In addition to the prizes of "federal" importance – i.e. dedicated to the first three absolute placements of the combined ranking of regularity and consumption – specialty trophies will be awarded, as well as some further specific special awards will be given.

Ecorally: sustainability and safety
The ECOdolomitesGT, promoted by RaceBioConcept TeamBioDrive Academy & ECOmove, falls into the category of Ecorally, competitions born in 2006 with the 1st EcoRally Rome – San Marino. These disciplines, in addition to experimenting in the field the performance of cars with low environmental impact, have laid, over time, the foundations for  regulating at national and international level all races with "ecological" cars, up to the famous FIA Formula-E and FIA Formula Extreme-E®® (in addition to the nascent ETCR®), together with other car competitions with LPG cars, methane, biomethane, bioethanol and biodiesel and/or driven by hybrid or exclusively electric propulsion, widely represented in Italy and in other countries by dedicated national championships of reference.

"Alongside environmental sustainability – explains Mario Montanucci Pignatelli, coordinator of the RaceBioConcept Team & BioDrive Academy, co-organizer – there is safety: the principle on which regularity and consumption eco-rallies are based, is precisely compliance with the road-rules, holding competitions on roads open to traffic."
